Acne Cures During Pregnancy

To consider the lengths we go to to find acne cures is to take us in the direction of the latest skin care efforts. I hate to have to report on what I just read about, but it all comes with the territory of researching skin care and acne cures and the like: there is a cosmetics firm in China (which sells to Europe) that is using dead skin to develop beauty products. Maybe this is not all that remarkable, but the company is using the skin of those who died by execution. The cosmetics firm reportedly uses the skin of “condemned convicts” who have been shot in their developing of products such as lip collagen treatments and wrinkle treatments. Some of their products have already been circulated, evidently, having been exported to England. When challenged, company heads respond that this practice is “traditional”, says a writer for LBN (Levine Breaking News). They also say that there is “nothing to ‘make such a big fuss about.’” But as the same writer tells it, there are ethical concerns for those developing and then for those using the products. As well, the reporter notes that there is “potential risk of infection” for those indulging in the “harvested” skin care products. Maybe the company and others like it have no qualms about ethics or health. Maybe the same have nothing to do with acne cures. Then again, maybe the offenders are ushering in the Soylent Green era, using the flesh of the dead for gain. Possibly, they are bringing on a new wave of illnesses or diseases. What concerns us should therefore be what goes into all our youth recouping, our beauty regimes, our acne cures. Yes, when we have the frustrating external flaws of acne—whether we are teens or twenty-somethings or pregnant mothers of stressed out fathers—we are inclined toward extreme solutions. We will go to great lengths to normalize, to clear up skin and fit in with the beautiful people, the unscathed, the oil-free. We will try the OTC (over-the-counter) acne cures, will resort to homemade acne cures, will suffer ourselves to the experimental acne cures of the innovations of science and medicine. Hell, when I was a teenager with insufferable zits galore, I succumbed to the “latest” acne cures, using strengths of Tetracycline that could cure twenty strep viruses at once, using lemons and vinegar and scrubs with sand in them (it felt like), and using what the doctor prescribed before it was fully tested: Retin-A, a solution we mixed with straight Vodka and burned away layers of dermis with. But I am concerned and curious as to what I would do today if someone offered me acne cures in a bottle or jar that had on its ingredients list an item too closely resembling the dead skin of a criminal’s ass. Okay, so we forego the ethics, and we let go of the “silly” fuss over health issues. What about the cosmic passing of an evil soul or an unjustly convicted, condemned, and executed woman or man by way of her or his skin through our pores?

C Section

C-section In many instances, there is a significant chance that during childbirth a woman will deliver by C-section, or Cesarean section, which is a surgical incision made in the abdomen and then into the uterus to deliver the baby or babies. Circumstances vary greatly and can be quite different with each pregnancy, and vary from woman to woman. Each woman’s individual medical and reproductive history is taken into consideration during the prenatal period, and is continuously evaluated throughout the pregnancy by the obstetrician. If warranted, a C-section will be scheduled to take place before actual labor begins, though this doesn’t necessarily mean that a woman won’t go into labor spontaneously before her scheduled delivery date. A history of certain medical conditions may require a C-section When the baby, mother, or both are in distress, a C-section is the fastest way to deliver the baby without further complications. Developmental abnormalities or fetal anomalies require delivery by C-section, as do breech or transverse fetal positions. Other indicators for a C-section delivery are irregular or decreased fetal heart tones, prolonged labor or labor that has failed to progress, a very large baby, baby unable to pass through mother’s hips, prolapsed umbilical cord, separation of the placenta from the wall of the uterus (placenta abruption), blockage of the birth canal by the placenta (placenta previa), or maternal illness, such as chronic medical conditions, pregnancy-related conditions (pre-eclampsia), HIV infection, or active genital herpes. A C-section is usually performed under regional anesthesia, allowing the mother to be awake and witness the birth of the baby. However, some types of emergency situations may require general anesthesia putting the mother completely asleep. Despite the fact that a C-section is major surgery, it is relatively safe and has a low rate of complications. There is still a certain level of risk involved, as with any surgical procedure; bleeding and infection, injury to the bladder or urinary tract, or even injury to the baby could occur. Prenatal classes are offered to expectant mothers and their significant others, and cover everything from vaginal delivery versus C-section, to how to select a car seat and bathe the baby. Even if a C-section delivery is not anticipated, physicians should discuss it with their patients prior to labor and delivery, to lessen their anxiety and promote a positive birth experience in the event a surgical birth is required. The expectant mother needs to feel comfortable with her prenatal care provider and trust in the level of care that is provided, and in the recommendations made to ensure that the pregnancy results in a happy healthy baby.

Lose 20 Pounds After Birth

Lose 20 pounds Prior to getting pregnant, I had a great figure. I was wearing a size 6 and like what I saw when I looked in the mirror. I allowed myself to gain more weight than necessary when I was pregnant, figuring it would not be that difficult to lose. Wow, was I ever wrong! I managed to keep 35 extra pounds. Granted, I could have gained a few pounds before my daughter came along in order to look healthier. Now, I'm desperate to lose 20 pounds. If I could somehow discipline myself to lose 20 pounds and keep it off, I would be incredibly happy. I want to like what I see when I look in the mirror again. Now, I cringe. All I see are my problem areas. Becoming a mother and having a colicky baby stressed me out incredibly. A lot of changes occurred in my life and I let myself become depressed. By doing that, I used food as a comfort. That was a huge mistake. And, that's the reason I am needing to lose 20 pounds. I could lose a little bit more than that but I will set my first goal at 20 pounds. I saw this magazine ad that promised me a way to lose weight by simply taking some pills every day. I was always skeptical prior to being desperate to lose 20 pounds, so I suddenly found myself wondering if they would work. I bit the bullet and ordered them. I am embarrassed to announce that taking those pills did absolutely nothing for me except take money from my bank account. I work a full-time job and a part-time job and have little time for exercise. I know, that isn't an excuse. If I wanted it badly enough I would find the time. I'm working on that. I try to get some power stroller walks in every evening. My daughter loves it and it gets my heart pounding. I know that it will not be easy to lose 20 pounds. I need to be incredibly dedicated and motivated. I think that I am, and I'll do really well for days. In fact, several months ago I managed to lose 6 pounds. Then, something dramatic happened in my life and suddenly those 6 pounds were gained back in days. So much for my ability to lose 20 pounds. Perhaps if my husband admitted that he too could lose 20 pounds, I would have a support system and not be exposed to all of his junk food snacks. So, I suppose I'm completely on my own. If only they pills that motivated me to lose 20 pounds......

Chlamydia Treatments and Infertility

Chlamydia Treatments Chlamydia is a nasty little sexually transmitted disease (STD) that can cause major damage to the female reproductive organs if not diagnosed and treated effectively. According to www.womenshealth.about.com, chlamydia affects over 3 million people per year, and three out of four of these people are under the age of 25 years. An overwhelming 50% of women have had chlamydia before they reached the age of 30. The signs of symptoms of chlamydia may be absent or only slightly noticeable, and if Chlamydia treatment is not sought soon enough, severe damage can happen to the ovaries, Fallopian tubes, and uterus, causing infertility. Many women who have sought chlamydia treatment in the past may not even know that their reproductive system has been affected until they are unable to get pregnant. Chlamydia treatment usually does not include checking the function of the reproductive organs, and is only discovered when these women seek treatment for infertility. More than 50% of infected women and 25% of infected men may not show any symptoms of chlamydia. If symptoms are present, it may be abnormal discharge or painful urination, both of which can be very slight. Often times Chlamydia has progressed far enough that some damage has already occurred because treatment was not initiated sooner. These chlamydia treatments usually consist of prescription antibiotics, such as Zithromax, tetracycline, or erythromycin, all antibiotics that are effective in killing chlamydia with only a few doses. Patients should be instructed to finish prescribed chlamydia treatments even if symptoms are no longer present. Other the STD may not be totally eradicated and come back with a vengeance, requiring more chlamydia treatment with an even stronger antibiotic. The only way to avoid having to seek chlamydia treatment is to use a barrier device, such as a condom during intercourse. If you don’t know your partner that well, or there are extramarital relationships occurring, then by all means use a condom just to be safe. You may never know, especially if you are single and having one night stands and engaging in other promiscuous sexual activities. If you do contract the bug, then seek testing and chlamydia treatment as soon as possible. You may be too embarrassed to seek chlamydia treatment, which is understandable, but at the same time, your reproductive health is at stake. Confide in your health car provider if you have engaged in unprotected sex, and get tested. You may not have Chlamydia, but you will feel much better knowing that, and if you do, you can start chlamydia treatment right away.

Japanese Weekend Maternity

Pregnancy changes everything. Your outlook on life is different. Your diet is different and your relationships with others have changed as well. Japanese Weekend Maternity recognizes the many changes that you are experiencing but with one major difference; the company is aware that you are still your self. Japanese Weekend Maternity clothing understands that you still desire the same comfort and style that your regular wardrobe provided for you. Many other manufacturers of clothing for pregnancy neglect to create clothes that are made for a woman who doesn’t want to hide behind extra large clothing. Japanese Weekend Maternity lines offer clothes that compliment and accentuate the positive in a comfortable fashion. Stylish and pregnant are two terms that rarely share the same sentence. In fact, the two terms rarely meet in the same paragraph. A pregnant woman still wants to feel attractive and this can be very hard in most of the clothing items created for pregnancy. Oversized shirts that have no shape just make things worse. At Japanese Weekend Maternity you will find a selection of clothes designed for looks as well as comfort. Who says that being comfortable means that you have to look frumpy? I spent my first pregnancy in nothing but sweatpants and oversized shirts. I didn’t want to leave my house because I felt like I was as big as a house. If I would have invested a little more time and energy into my appearance I would have felt much better. Fortunately, I came across Japanese Weekend Maternity clothing. Things have changed this time around. I may be a mom with another on the way but I am not going to lock myself up in my house. I am not going to dress in my husband’s clothes and I am definitely not committing my self to sweat suits for the next few months. There are too many things to do. Shopping at Japanese Weekend Maternity is one of them. I found very comfortable clothes to wear in all phases of this pregnancy. I’m glad that I can still move freely and look great too. It is a nice feeling to be able to go out with my toddler in my clothes from Japanese Weekend Maternity and not be embarrassed about feeling frumpy. My only regret is not finding out about the clothing line available through Japanese Weekend Maternity the first time around. I would have had much more fun during my first pregnancy if I were more comfortable and stylish.
