Conception Chart

A conception chart is a bit more useful for having a child than for avoiding having one, though they can be used for both. The western conception chart only claims to be able to predict cycles of ovulation and tell you when you will be the most fertile so that you can be sure to have sex on those days, while the chines conception chart claims much greater powers. The chines conception chart claims to actually be able to predict the child's gender based on the phase of the moon, the mothers age, and a variety of other factors, but most people are skeptical to say the least. The only people who use a conception chart to try to avoid birth are devout Catholics, and members of other faiths which forbid the use of birth control. This is called the rhythm method, and is unfortunately far less reliable than the use of plain old birth control. My sister married a Catholic, and subsequently converted and became an extremely devout Catholic herself. She would carefully mark her conception chart with symbols indicating the days when she was and when she wasn't fertile, but unfortunately, the whole thing failed spectacularly. Within 6 months, she was pregnant with her first child. Within another four months of giving birth, she was pregnant with her second. It is plain to see that there are some things which a conception chart was not meant to do. Unfortunately, conception charts aren't always that useful even for encouraging pregnancy. For most people, having enough unprotected sex virtually guarantees that they will have a kid. For those with serious fertility problems, however, making sure to have intercourse at the appropriate time is simply not enough to do the trick. A conception chart is one of the tools used by fertility experts to try to encourage pregnancy, but often more drastic methods like artificial insemination are required to do the trick, so to speak. One way or another, there will be results eventually if both people are persistent, and if there aren't those results, there are always other options available. For example, the couple can adopt, or even hire a surrogate mother. Personally, I am a big fan of adoption, instead of bringing another child into the world. With the number of unwanted kids, it really is a wonderful thing to ensure that one of them grows up in a loving family, who might otherwise have not.

Early Pregnancy Testing

Early Pregnancy Testing After years of trying unsuccessfully to conceive a child, I am the queen of early pregnancy testing. I know that science tells us that early pregnancy testing is not always accurate, but who has the patience to wait weeks before finding out if they are carrying a little bundle of joy? My doctor frowns on early pregnancy testing. He told me that it takes about two weeks after you conceive to accumulate enough HCG for a test to give a positive result. By his calculations, early pregnancy testing is just a waste of money. Maybe he is right, but I just can’t help myself and I give into the early pregnancy testing bug every time. I order pregnancy tests online by the case. I keep them in my bathroom so that I can satisfy my early pregnancy testing whim any time I feel like it. Early pregnancy testing can be extremely frustrating. The three minutes it takes for a line to show up can seem like hours. I try to follow the early pregnancy testing directions. I try to wait for three minutes before I look at the test to see if I am pregnant. Oh, who am I kidding? Every time I give into the urge for early pregnancy testing, I end up sitting on the bathroom counter, holding the test in my hand for the entire three minutes, verbally willing a line to show up. When the three minutes have gone by, I stand there, twisting the test to every angle imaginable. I hold it at arms length. I put it right up to my nose. I squint my eyes, hoping that the blur it creates will show me an early pregnancy testing line. I examine each shadow and I have even been known to rip apart an early pregnancy testing kit to see if the line is more visible outside the casing. Yes, I know. I have it bad. I am suffering from EPTS. (Early Pregnancy Testing Syndrome) I have even been known to dig an hour old test out of the trash just to see if a line somehow snuck onto it. When I finally did get pregnant, I couldn’t believe that I was really seeing a line. I went through five more early pregnancy testing kits before I believed that I was pregnant. I had spent so many years with negative pregnancy results that I didn’t know a positive result when I saw it.

Prevent Acne Problems in Pregnancy

We have all heard that prevention is the best medicine and this idea holds true even for people who are plagued with acne. This simple approach is wonderful in concept, but the difficulty lies in finding out how to prevent acne. What steps do we take to keep from finding those annoying blemishes from appearing when we can’t take medication? My sister has been having horrendous breakouts lately. Her adult acne is so bad that her entire face is covered in blemishes. The marks on her face lead her to consult her doctor about the possible causes of acne as well as ways to prevent acne breakouts in the future. I watched my niece while my sister went to her appointment, hoping that there was a solution to her problem. When my sister arrived home, she looked wide-eyed and a little pale. She said that the doctor told her that the cause of acne in her case was bacteria. Unfortunately, she said that there was no way to treat the bacterial infection right now even though a simple antibiotic could prevent acne in this case. This didn’t make sense to me at first, then my sister added, “With me being pregnant and all.” This good news wasn’t dampened a bit by the inability to prevent acne breakouts but it did pose a challenge. The doctor suggested that my sister stay away from harsh soaps, especially antibacterial soaps. This came as a big surprise because one would think that an antibacterial soap would prevent acne that was caused by bacteria. It turns out that the opposite is true. When we use harsh soaps that kill bacteria, we often make ourselves vulnerable to pimples because we kill good bacteria that battle the bad. Yes, there is a war going on and our skin is at stake. The doctor suggested that my sister’s best approach to prevent acne would be to use a very gentle cleanser and to only cleanse twice a day. My sister was washing her face every chance she got. It has only been two weeks since her visit to the doctor. My sister’s complexion is not crystal clear and it probably won’t be until she is able to treat the acne with medication. However, she is able to prevent acne from getting the best of her. She uses a gentle cleanser twice a day and she thinks about her new baby. A little adult acne is such a small price to pay.

Prenatal Vitamins

Pre-natal vitamins are an extremely important part of health care during a pregnancy. While they don’t guarantee that you’re baby will be 100 percent healthy, pre-natal vitamins significantly decrease the chances of defects and generally promote big healthy babies. Any health care professional that you see during a pregnancy will practically shove pre-natal vitamins down your throat, as they all know how much of a difference they can make. Life is a pretty amazing thing, and the process of life development within a womb is beautifully intricate and complicated. Unfortunately, this means that there are a lot of things that can go wrong as well, especially if you are deficient in certain vitamins or minerals. While being just mildly deficient in some vitamins and minerals normally doesn’t have a very drastic consequence, when you’re pregnant such mild deficiencies can have significant effects on your child, which is why health care professionals always recommend pre-natal vitamins. The good news is that it’s really easy to make sure you aren’t deficient in any vitamins or minerals during your pregnancy. First of all, listen to your cravings. If you are pregnant or ever have been pregnant, you know what I’m referring to. If you find yourself with an insurmountable desire to eat a hamburger, then eat a hamburger. During pregnancy, your body is many times more sensitive to its needs than normal, and what you crave in your diet is a direct reflection of what you need. As a sort of back up measure, take pre-natal vitamins daily to ensure that you’re not missing out on things your body doesn’t even know how to crave. When all you have to do is take a pill once or twice a day to ensure that your baby is getting what it needs, there is really no argument against taking pre-natal vitamins. If they make you queasy, take them on a full stomach. If you are prone to forgetting, set an alarm on your cell phone to go off daily. If you think you may be pregnant you should see a doctor as soon as possible, and while you’re there ask him or her about pre-natal vitamins. He or she will probably have some good pre-natal vitamins to recommend, and can help further explain why its so important that you take them. The time between conception and birth is the time for laying a strong and healthy foundation for your child to grow from. A strong healthy baby is much more likely to be healthy throughout life.

Japanese Weekend Maternity

Pregnancy changes everything. Your outlook on life is different. Your diet is different and your relationships with others have changed as well. Japanese Weekend Maternity recognizes the many changes that you are experiencing but with one major difference; the company is aware that you are still your self. Japanese Weekend Maternity clothing understands that you still desire the same comfort and style that your regular wardrobe provided for you. Many other manufacturers of clothing for pregnancy neglect to create clothes that are made for a woman who doesn’t want to hide behind extra large clothing. Japanese Weekend Maternity lines offer clothes that compliment and accentuate the positive in a comfortable fashion. Stylish and pregnant are two terms that rarely share the same sentence. In fact, the two terms rarely meet in the same paragraph. A pregnant woman still wants to feel attractive and this can be very hard in most of the clothing items created for pregnancy. Oversized shirts that have no shape just make things worse. At Japanese Weekend Maternity you will find a selection of clothes designed for looks as well as comfort. Who says that being comfortable means that you have to look frumpy? I spent my first pregnancy in nothing but sweatpants and oversized shirts. I didn’t want to leave my house because I felt like I was as big as a house. If I would have invested a little more time and energy into my appearance I would have felt much better. Fortunately, I came across Japanese Weekend Maternity clothing. Things have changed this time around. I may be a mom with another on the way but I am not going to lock myself up in my house. I am not going to dress in my husband’s clothes and I am definitely not committing my self to sweat suits for the next few months. There are too many things to do. Shopping at Japanese Weekend Maternity is one of them. I found very comfortable clothes to wear in all phases of this pregnancy. I’m glad that I can still move freely and look great too. It is a nice feeling to be able to go out with my toddler in my clothes from Japanese Weekend Maternity and not be embarrassed about feeling frumpy. My only regret is not finding out about the clothing line available through Japanese Weekend Maternity the first time around. I would have had much more fun during my first pregnancy if I were more comfortable and stylish.
