... ~~~~~~~~~~~~Acne Cures During Pregnancy
To consider the lengths we go to to find acne cures is to take us in the direction of the latest skin care efforts. I hate to have to report on what I just read about, but it all comes with the territory of researching skin care and acne cures and the like: there is a cosmetics firm in China (which sells to Europe) that is using dead skin to develop beauty products. Maybe this is not all that remarkable, but the company is using the skin of those who died by execution. The cosmetics firm reportedly uses the skin of “condemned convicts” who have been shot in their developing of products such as lip collagen treatments and wrinkle treatments.
Some of their products have already been circulated, evidently, having been exported to England. When challenged, company heads respond that this practice is “traditional”, says a writer for LBN (Levine Breaking News). They also say that there is “nothing to ‘make such a big fuss about.’” But as the same writer tells it, there are ethical concerns for those developing and then for those using the products. As well, the reporter notes that there is “potential risk of infection” for those indulging in the “harvested” skin care products.
Maybe the company and others like it have no qualms about ethics or health. Maybe the same have nothing to do with acne cures. Then again, maybe the offenders are ushering in the Soylent Green era, using the flesh of the dead for gain. Possibly, they are bringing on a new wave of illnesses or diseases. What concerns us should therefore be what goes into all our youth recouping, our beauty regimes, our acne cures.
Yes, when we have the frustrating external flaws of acne—whether we are teens or twenty-somethings or pregnant mothers of stressed out fathers—we are inclined toward extreme solutions. We will go to great lengths to normalize, to clear up skin and fit in with the beautiful people, the unscathed, the oil-free. We will try the OTC (over-the-counter) acne cures, will resort to homemade acne cures, will suffer ourselves to the experimental acne cures of the innovations of science and medicine. Hell, when I was a teenager with insufferable zits galore, I succumbed to the “latest” acne cures, using strengths of Tetracycline that could cure twenty strep viruses at once, using lemons and vinegar and scrubs with sand in them (it felt like), and using what the doctor prescribed before it was fully tested: Retin-A, a solution we mixed with straight Vodka and burned away layers of dermis with.
But I am concerned and curious as to what I would do today if someone offered me acne cures in a bottle or jar that had on its ingredients list an item too closely resembling the dead skin of a criminal’s ass. Okay, so we forego the ethics, and we let go of the “silly” fuss over health issues. What about the cosmic passing of an evil soul or an unjustly convicted, condemned, and executed woman or man by way of her or his skin through our pores?

... ~~~~~~~~~~~~Zoloft Side Effects
Don't use Zoloft During Pregnancy!
Zoloft, also known as sertraline, is an antidepressant that is in the group of antidepressants known selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SSRIs. Zoloft is used to treat a variety of psychological disorders including, major depressive disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and premenstrual disphoric disorder (PMDD). These disorders are caused by chemical imbalances within the brain, and Zoloft as well as other antidepressants in this class work to regulate the imbalance to alleviate symptoms. As with other antidepressants, side effects of Zoloft cannot be ruled out and are different in each individual patient.
Patients are encouraged to consult their prescribing physician or psychiatrist if new symptoms appear, if they become worse, or if suicidal thoughts occur at any time during treatment, which occur more often in patients under the age of 18. Since the signs and symptoms of many psychological disorders overlap, patients may be diagnosed with more than one mental illness, therefore the same precautions should be observed whether the patient has major depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, or any other psychological disorder. For most antidepressants in this class, the patient will not start experiencing relief from symptoms until after at least one week of therapy at the earliest. The average length of time varies, but is usually two to three weeks, and in some patients may take longer. Of course, if symptoms do not subside, possibly a dose adjustment may be in order.
According to various online references, some patients have experienced various Zoloft side effects during treatment including insomnia, agitation, panic attacks, restlessness, fatigue, impulsivity, and mania. Other symptoms may include dizziness, dry mouth, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, or urinary retention. Zoloft should not be taken if alcoholic beverages have been consumed either. The patient should wait and take the next dose the following morning. This medication should always be taken with food or milk as well, not on an empty stomach. Patients should also avoid driving or other activities requiring alertness until they have taken it long enough to know how they react to the drug. Another possible side effect of Zoloft is weight gain, which is common in some patients, as is decreased appetite in others. Zoloft should also not be taken if you are pregnant, lactating, have liver or kidney disease, or have a history of seizures or heart attack. Patients should also not abruptly stop taking this medication without being instructed by their physician or psychiatrist. Debilitating symptoms may return or become worse, which could put the patient back to square one in their treatment.

... ~~~~~~~~~~~~Lose 20 Pounds After Birth
Lose 20 pounds
Prior to getting pregnant, I had a great figure. I was wearing a size 6 and like what I saw when I looked in the mirror. I allowed myself to gain more weight than necessary when I was pregnant, figuring it would not be that difficult to lose. Wow, was I ever wrong! I managed to keep 35 extra pounds. Granted, I could have gained a few pounds before my daughter came along in order to look healthier. Now, I'm desperate to lose 20 pounds. If I could somehow discipline myself to lose 20 pounds and keep it off, I would be incredibly happy. I want to like what I see when I look in the mirror again. Now, I cringe. All I see are my problem areas.
Becoming a mother and having a colicky baby stressed me out incredibly. A lot of changes occurred in my life and I let myself become depressed. By doing that, I used food as a comfort. That was a huge mistake. And, that's the reason I am needing to lose 20 pounds. I could lose a little bit more than that but I will set my first goal at 20 pounds.
I saw this magazine ad that promised me a way to lose weight by simply taking some pills every day. I was always skeptical prior to being desperate to lose 20 pounds, so I suddenly found myself wondering if they would work. I bit the bullet and ordered them. I am embarrassed to announce that taking those pills did absolutely nothing for me except take money from my bank account. I work a full-time job and a part-time job and have little time for exercise. I know, that isn't an excuse. If I wanted it badly enough I would find the time. I'm working on that. I try to get some power stroller walks in every evening. My daughter loves it and it gets my heart pounding.
I know that it will not be easy to lose 20 pounds. I need to be incredibly dedicated and motivated. I think that I am, and I'll do really well for days. In fact, several months ago I managed to lose 6 pounds. Then, something dramatic happened in my life and suddenly those 6 pounds were gained back in days. So much for my ability to lose 20 pounds. Perhaps if my husband admitted that he too could lose 20 pounds, I would have a support system and not be exposed to all of his junk food snacks. So, I suppose I'm completely on my own. If only they pills that motivated me to lose 20 pounds......

... ~~~~~~~~~~~~Child Support Laws
Having children can certainly be a gargantuan turn in the road called life. Although some folks assume they are ready in every way, they soon find out that they're not. What a surprise. I think the greatest thing that surprised me after my daughter was born was the power of the bond. Wow, there is definitely nothing in the world as strong as a parent-child connection. I'm talking about a substantial nexus even prior to the child's birth. It's truly wonderful. I can still remember how anxious and happy I was when my wife was pregnant. That child meant the world to me and I hadn't even met her yet. So if you don't already have one of your own, but plan to, get ready for something amazing. One aspect of having a child that most happy families naturally avoid is child support laws. Are you up to speed on the system?
I can still remember back in the 80s when child support laws completely sided with the mother. The female would get the children no matter what. Although I don't agree with this process, I'm sure sometimes it was for the better. However, when my parents split due to my father's unfaithful behavior, she took us three boys and bolted. I mean she literally left the state. While I didn't really understand her actions at the time since I was only five, I sort of do today. The only problem was that when I was young, I wanted to live with my father, and so did my brothers. Hey, we were young boys; what would you expect? We knew nothing but the way he treated us. Regardless of our wishes, we stayed with our mother because the courts ruled it. This meant that my father had to pay a child support. Those were the child support laws. I find it funny how so many fathers now days do not want to pay. If this is the case, why did they ever contribute to having children? Get a clue!
It's a good thing that decent child support laws are in place these days. Otherwise a close friend of mine would not even receive child support from her ex-husband, who is the father of her two children. He's not interested whatsoever in taking care of or spending time with his kids. The sad part is that he just had a couple more with a different lady. I believe that men like this are the reason strict child support laws are in place.

... ~~~~~~~~~~~~Asthma Treatments During Pregnancy
Asthma treatments come in many shapes and forms. People who suffer from the breathing disorder have quite a few options to consider. Physicians can prescribe a number of medications that prove to be successful in relieving the symptoms associated with the frightening affliction. However, the options wane when the person looking for treatment is pregnant.
One of the most exciting times in a woman’s life is when she is expecting a baby. The mother goes through a lot of emotional and physical changes during this time in her life. Some of the physical changes are unexpected and uncomfortable. A woman can find herself sleepless, irritable and nauseous.
Having breathing problems on top of all of the other symptoms of pregnancy can really be a burden. Finding appropriate asthma treatments that can be administered during pregnancy can put the woman’s mind at ease. However, finding asthma treatments is not always so easy especially if you are pregnant.
Asthma is quite common in the United States and other countries around the world. Anyone who has suffered an asthma attack knows the symptoms. An exacerbation, or attack, involves coughing wheezing and the frightening feeling of being unable to get any air. Some describe an exacerbation as drowning in air. Asthma treatments are developed to alleviate the symptoms associated with the attack.
Unfortunately, the developing baby in the womb takes in oxygen through his mother’s breathing. If the mother isn’t getting any air, neither is the fetus. The baby is dependant on the mother’s breathing to get the appropriate supply of oxygen he needs to survive. When a woman has an exacerbation, the baby is at risk for not getting enough oxygen. This can be very dangerous to the developing fetus.
Many women who used asthma treatments that involved medication before they became pregnant often cease the asthma treatments. Women with the breathing disorder are afraid that the medicine will have an adverse effect on the baby. However, it is best to consult a physician before quitting the medication completely.
Your doctor needs to know the details about your condition and he needs to know if you choose to quit asthma treatments. You could be putting the baby at greater risk by quitting the medication because a severe attack will do more harm to the fetus than the medicine can. The more severe the exacerbation, the more dangerous it is for the baby. Abruptly stopping asthma treatments can do more harm than good.

... ~~~~~~~~~~~~Prenatal Vitamins
Pre-natal vitamins are an extremely important part of health care during a pregnancy. While they don’t guarantee that you’re baby will be 100 percent healthy, pre-natal vitamins significantly decrease the chances of defects and generally promote big healthy babies. Any health care professional that you see during a pregnancy will practically shove pre-natal vitamins down your throat, as they all know how much of a difference they can make.
Life is a pretty amazing thing, and the process of life development within a womb is beautifully intricate and complicated. Unfortunately, this means that there are a lot of things that can go wrong as well, especially if you are deficient in certain vitamins or minerals. While being just mildly deficient in some vitamins and minerals normally doesn’t have a very drastic consequence, when you’re pregnant such mild deficiencies can have significant effects on your child, which is why health care professionals always recommend pre-natal vitamins.
The good news is that it’s really easy to make sure you aren’t deficient in any vitamins or minerals during your pregnancy. First of all, listen to your cravings. If you are pregnant or ever have been pregnant, you know what I’m referring to. If you find yourself with an insurmountable desire to eat a hamburger, then eat a hamburger. During pregnancy, your body is many times more sensitive to its needs than normal, and what you crave in your diet is a direct reflection of what you need.
As a sort of back up measure, take pre-natal vitamins daily to ensure that you’re not missing out on things your body doesn’t even know how to crave. When all you have to do is take a pill once or twice a day to ensure that your baby is getting what it needs, there is really no argument against taking pre-natal vitamins. If they make you queasy, take them on a full stomach. If you are prone to forgetting, set an alarm on your cell phone to go off daily.
If you think you may be pregnant you should see a doctor as soon as possible, and while you’re there ask him or her about pre-natal vitamins. He or she will probably have some good pre-natal vitamins to recommend, and can help further explain why its so important that you take them. The time between conception and birth is the time for laying a strong and healthy foundation for your child to grow from. A strong healthy baby is much more likely to be healthy throughout life.
